Job Summary

Operate imaging equipment to perform mammography screening and diagnostic protocols based on physicians' orders, meticulously positioning and immobilizing patients to visualize anatomy and pathology. Verify proper equipment operation, set imaging parameters, and execute quality assurance checks to ensure diagnostic image quality. Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxiety, monitor physiological conditions during exams, and prepare cases for immediate interpretation while assembling records for physician review. Adhere to safety and regulatory standards for comprehensive breast health.

Required Qualifications

  • current mammography certification
  • exceptional technical skills
  • meticulous attention to detail
  • compassionate demeanor
  • Graduation from an accredited school of Radiological Technology
  • two years of related work experience
  • Medical Radiographer: WA
  • Registered Technologist Mammography
  • Basic Life Support - CPR

Desired Qualifications

  • successful completion of accredited coursework for stereotactic breast biopsy
  • willingness to be trained on-the-job to perform this procedure
  • a minimum of fifteen continuing education credit hours in a 36-month period specific to mammography
  • equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position
  • meets the qualifications of any required certification or licensure
