Job Summary
The Mammography Technologist will perform high-quality mammographic imaging procedures, assist in diagnosing breast disease, and ensure compliance with safety standards. Responsibilities include performing screening and diagnostic exams, preparing patients, applying radiation safety measures, evaluating images, assisting with specialized procedures, and educating patients about the process. Candidates must possess an accredited Radiologic Technology program degree, ARRT certification in Radiography and Mammography, current BLS certification, and at least one year of mammography experience.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
- ARRT certification in Radiography and Mammography (R.T. (R)(M))
- Current BLS certification
- Minimum 1 year of mammography experience (outpatient experience preferred)
- Licensed by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Registered in Mammography
- Current ARRT/Mammography certification
- Trained in digital mammography
- Minimum of 1 year of experience required in Mammography and related testing and Quality Control in Mammography
Desired Qualifications
- Strong communication and patient care skills
- Knowledge of digital mammography systems, PACS, and quality control procedures
- X-Ray experience preferred
- Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures
- Knowledge of safety requirements to provide instructions and to recognize and correct hazardous conditions
