Job Summary
Provide mammography imaging services by operating equipment, positioning patients, and selecting technical parameters. Explain procedures and educate patients on preventive breast health while developing and evaluating film for density, definition, and distortion. Follow radiation safety guidelines and ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents to PACS with correct markers and patient data. Maintain equipment functionality and report malfunctions; assist in keeping department areas clean and orderly. May perform bone density scans using DEXA equipment. Full-time days schedule from 8am to 4:30pm or 4 10's at UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham North Tower Imaging.
Required Qualifications
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date
- Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date
- Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date
- Graduate of an accredited educational program in Radiologic Technology
