Job Summary
Provide in-person interpretation at client service sites for minors, facilitating accurate communication between minors and Care Staff and other personnel. Relay deadlines, instructions, questions, and concerns from staff to minors in English and Mam; assist minors in communicating their concerns to staff; provide translation/interpretation to orient minors to community resources; support staff in understanding the cultural context of the client populations; contribute to special projects as requested. Role emphasizes confidentiality, ethics, and professional standards; services primarily in person (preferred) with possible support via telephone or videoconference, and potential 24/7 availability. Position is temporary, full-time, with travel to client sites across the United States as needed (100% travel if not residing near a current site). This role may require shift work and is governed by the Service Contract Act (SCA).
Required Qualifications
- Must have working proficiency (ILR 2+) in English and the Mam language
- May be required to obtain a T2, Public Trust clearance
- Prior experience in foster care or medical care situations is preferred
- This position requires a valid driver's license
- This position is open only to individuals authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
- This position is subject to the Service Contract Act (SCA), and compensation and fringe benefits will be provided in accordance with the applicable Department of Labor Wage Determination and contract labor category
