Job Summary
Malt Operator role responsible for cleaning and moving grain, operating malting and farm equipment, steeping, germinating, packaging, kilning, and testing finished malt ingredients. Emphasizes adherence to safety and quality policies, self-directed work ethic, strong computer skills (MS Office, SAP, Wonderware) to monitor/control daily operations, and participation in continuous improvement and plant process control programs. Requires ability to communicate process changes to team and management, and to perform routine sanitation and maintenance duties in a high-volume production environment. Rotating 12-hour shifts with day/night coverage, weekends, holidays, overtime and call-ins as needed. Educational requirement is a high school diploma or GED, with preferred production/food processing experience and strong problem-solving skills.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Strong problem solving skills
- Production/Food Processing experience recommended
- Ability to perform physical tasks (lifting up to 50 pounds)
- Comfort with working in dusty and wet environments
- Understanding of process equipment and basic mechanical troubleshooting
