Job Summary
Direct Support Professional (Part-Time) in Family & Community Supports (FCS) provides direct support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to help them achieve independence. Responsibilities include facilitating community integration and meaningful relationships, supporting self-help and advocacy goals, assisting with personal care and medications, maintaining a safe living environment, completing required documentation and trainings, and contributing to professional, respectful team-based care. Requires a High School diploma or equivalent, valid driver’s license with reliable vehicle, ability to perform physical tasks (lifting, transferring), and completion of CPR/First Aid and Level 1 Med-Aide trainings. PT shifts available; starting wage is $17.75 per hour (approx. $36,920 annually for full-time equivalence). Open interviews occur in Kirksville, MO with attendance via RSVP.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities, preferred
- Valid driver’s license
- Reliable, licensed, and insured vehicle
- Must have reliable form of communication
- Ability to satisfactorily complete mandatory (paid) trainings to include CPR/First Aid and Level 1 Med-Aide
- Lift, carry, squat, bend, move, push, or pull, sit, or stand for long intermittent periods
- Type on a keyboard, and vision sufficient to view computer screens for extended periods
