Job Summary
The role seeks a fit male Disability Support Worker to support a 22-year-old male client with complex medical conditions and behaviours such as schizophrenia and physical aggression. Key responsibilities include providing community access support, managing challenging behaviours, and ensuring client safety. Candidates must have at least a Certificate III in Disability or equivalent, along with required checks and certificates. Flexible working arrangements are based on client needs.
Required Qualifications
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Employee Working With Children Check
- Current First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR (HLTAID009) certificates
- Valid Australian Driver’s Licence and a reliable, comprehensively insured car
- At least Certificate III in Disability, Individual Support, or an equivalent qualification
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in Disability Support or similar roles
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment checks
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting individuals with schizophrenia, brain injuries, or other complex behavioural issues.
- Experience managing challenging behaviours, including physical aggression, absconding, and suicidal ideation.
- Experience in community access and assisting clients with daily living tasks.
