Job Summary
Conduct daily care for a stroke patient from 3:30 PM to 9:30 PM, including safe transfers with a gait belt, toileting, bathing, dressing, meal preparation, and prescribed exercise assistance. Maintain fall-prevention safety precautions and perform light housekeeping throughout the shift. Possess active California HCA registration, TB clearance, and valid SSN with immediate start availability. Schedule may increase to 12 hours daily upon client and family satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
- Male caregiver
- Experience working with stroke patients
- Experience working with clients with paralysis
- Safe transfers
- Proper use of a gait belt
- Toileting and personal hygiene assistance
- Bathing/washing and dressing assistance
- Meal preparation and feeding assistance
- Light housekeeping
- Assisting and encouraging the client with prescribed exercises
- Maintaining fall-prevention and safety precautions
- Active California HCA registration
- Current TB test/clearance
- Valid Social Security Number (SSN)
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
- Previous hands-on experience with stroke/paralyzed clients
- Experience with transfers
