Job Summary
Independent Licensed Mental Health Clinicians (1099) provide confidential, evidence-based trauma and behavioral health services to federal wildland firefighters and dispatchers. Responsibilities include trauma-focused individual and group therapy for PTSD, critical incident stress, compassion fatigue, and substance use; crisis intervention during high-stress periods; comprehensive diagnostic assessments and evidence-based treatment planning; and hybrid delivery via telehealth and scheduled on-site engagement to maximize accessibility. Ideal candidates have a Master’s or Doctorate in a mental health discipline with current independent licensure, 2+ years of post-licensure direct clinical care, and experience with military/first-responder trauma populations, with training in trauma-focused modalities (e.g., EMDR, CPT, Prolonged Exposure Therapy). This contractor role offers clinical autonomy, flexible caseload management, and competitive hourly rates within a mission-driven national program.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s or Doctorate in a mental health discipline
- Current, Independent Licensure in the state of practice (Non-negotiable)
- Minimum of 2 years post-licensure direct clinical care experience (preferred)
- Experience with military/first-responder/trauma populations
- Trauma-focused therapies training (e.g., EMDR, CPT, Prolonged Exposure Therapy)
