Job Summary
Lead mechanical engineering scope for multi-billion-dollar EPU projects, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence. Direct and review mechanical system designs to ensure compliance with ASME, NRC, and fleet standards. Coordinate with EPC contractors, OEMs, and site engineering to ensure system compatibility and constructability. Support Owner’s Engineer and independent third-party reviews, validating design quality and operational readiness. Provide technical leadership in resolving mechanical design issues to maintain outage and project milestones. Ensure mechanical modifications support long-term operability, maintainability, and integration into plant systems.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (required)
- 10+ years of nuclear engineering or heavy industrial engineering experience
- 5+ years in mechanical systems design, modification, or major projects
- Direct experience with Extended Power Uprates, large-scale plant modifications
- Strong knowledge of NRC, INPO, ASME, and ANSI codes and standards
- Demonstrated ability to lead discipline-specific teams and interface with EPCs, OEMs, and site staff
