Major Project Travel Technician 1- Power Generator

Job Summary

Install, commission, service, and repair Aggreko generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, HVAC systems, and OFA systems while troubleshooting failures on major projects and in service centers. Utilize mathematical formulas to calculate tonnage and kW requirements, read electrical schematics, and maintain safe working conditions per OSHA and EPA regulations. Interface with a remote operations center to prevent failures and design proactive notifications. This role includes up to 75% travel from a home-based US city with a major airport, competitive pay ranging from $30.00 to $44.00 per hour with a travel allowance, and annual bonuses. Candidates must have a high school diploma, 8+ years of experience with power generators, and relevant certifications.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED
  • 8+ years' experience working on power generators, performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs
  • Ability to move or lift objects, typically less than 75 lbs
  • Availability to work the assigned schedule, travel to work locations (if needed) and be on standby for work outside of regularly scheduled shifts
  • Must be able to stand, walk and sit for prolonged periods of time; and be able to walk over uneven terrain with functional balance that does not require any special assistive devices
  • Must be able to move the extremities and spine through a functional range of motion that will permit work to be safely performed from ground / floor level to full overhead level
  • Must have good finger dexterity to manipulate small items, functional hand-eye coordination, and functionally grip with adequate strength to safely hold tools and stair railing or ladders
  • Must be able to safely meet the physical demands outlined in the Essential Physical Capacities Assessment and pass the post-offer physical abilities assessment, which includes being able to lift (60 lbs), push/pull (80 lbs), carry (60 lbs), climb stairs and ladders as well as a combination of climbing while carrying objects (15 lbs), stoop, kneel and squat
  • Must be able to move or lift objects, typically less than 75 lbs

Desired Qualifications

  • Electrical Generating System Association technician or other various certifications
  • Knowledge using metering and instruments such as multi-meter's, amp meters, and Hygrometers
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card
  • Valid driver's license
