Job Summary
Join Hato Hone St John as a Major Incident Support Team (MIST) member to assist ambulance crews and communities in a variety of roles during emergencies and events. Responsibilities include maintaining readiness of MIST vehicles and equipment, relocating and operating support or specialist vehicles, and contributing to logistics, welfare, communications, safety, or acting as a team leader. Training is provided through an initial foundation course covering induction, risk management, and driving. Applicants should hold a NZ Class 1 Driver’s Licence, may have First Aid level 2 (training provided if not), attend monthly trainings, and be ready to deploy within 30 minutes of activation. The role emphasizes teamwork, strong communication, attention to detail, and physical fitness, with opportunities to contribute at local to national levels across New Zealand. Required Qualifications
- Hold a current, full, and clean New Zealand Class 1 Driver's Licence
- Hold a First Aid certificate level 2 is preferred, but training provided
- Attend at least one training session per month
- Be ready to deploy within 30 minutes of activation
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrate strong communication skills
- Maintain a good level of physical fitness
- Be at least 18 years of age
