Major Incident Support Team Member

Job Summary
Maintain operational readiness of all Major Incident Support vehicles and equipment, safely relocating support, command, or specialist units as needed. Respond to major incidents and events to undertake roles in logistics, welfare, communications, safety, or team leadership, assisting ambulance crews during local emergencies, national disasters, and planned events. Complete an initial foundation course covering induction, operational risk management, and driving training, then attend monthly training sessions to sustain readiness. Deploy within 30 minutes of activation while residing in the Christchurch City area. Hold a current, full, clean New Zealand Class 1 Driver's Licence and a Level 2 First Aid Certificate.
Required Qualifications
- Reside in Christchurch City area
- Hold a current, full, and clean New Zealand Class 1 Driver's Licence
- Attend at least one training session per month
- Be ready to deploy within 30 minutes of activation
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrate strong communication skills
- Maintain a good level of physical fitness
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Hold a Level 2 First Aid Certificate or be willing to obtain one as part of onboarding
