Job Summary
Major Gifts Officer role focused on cultivating and soliciting high-net-worth donors to sustain Treehouse’s fundraising program, managing a portfolio of ~150 donors, implementing multi-year moves-management strategies, delivering tailored funding proposals, providing ongoing donor reporting, and serving as an ambassador for Treehouse in pursuit of equitable outcomes for youth in foster care. The position is in Seattle, requires in-office work with a hybrid schedule, and involves face-to-face and virtual donor engagements, events, and collaboration with development staff to advance fundraising goals.
Required Qualifications
- 2-5 years of development experience or sales or account management with high-net-worth individuals, preferably in a nonprofit setting
- Excellent interpersonal skills, sales proficiency, and experience cultivating lasting partnerships and driving revenue
- Must satisfy Washington State and national criminal and MVR background requirements as appropriate
- Reliable transportation and current driver's license required, with minimum WA State driver insurance coverage. Driving record must be approved by Treehouse’s insurance provider
- Experience with Salesforce or other donor CRM software
- Proficiency with Microsoft O365 and other technologies necessary for successful day-to-day functioning in a business environment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information and sign a confidentiality agreement
- Willingness to travel locally and regionally (local travel for donor meetings and events)
- Ability to work independently, problem solve, take initiative, set priorities, handle multiple projects, and exercise good judgment in a fast-paced environment

- Ability to thrive while working independently outside an office setting while maintaining relationships with coworkers and manager
- Demonstrated ability to build working relationships with individuals of various ages, cultures, socioeconomic backgrounds, and abilities
- Experience with donor relations, fundraising planning, and major gifts strategies
