Job Summary
Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward individual and institutional prospects for Penn Nursing Development. Plan, coordinate, and implement fundraising efforts, including communication, events, and board/volunteer involvement; manage a donor portfolio of 125-150 qualified prospects capable of $250,000+ gifts; conduct ~120 donor meetings annually and solicit 12-15 major gifts each year, with a focus on advancing the School of Nursing’s priorities. Collaborate with University leadership and development colleagues, represent Penn Nursing’s priorities to diverse stakeholders, and support moves management reporting. Travel domestically as needed and work some weekends/evenings; provide detailed updates to senior leadership and participate in cross-functional fundraising activities. Requirements include a Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years (Major Gifts Officer) or 5-7 years (Senior Major Gifts Officer) of related experience; demonstrated ability to build trust-based relationships and drive strategic fundraising outcomes. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 3-5 years of professional higher education development-related experience or related work experience
- Demonstrated ability to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors
- Experience managing a portfolio of donors and coordinating moves-management activities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to articulate Penn Nursing's mission to diverse audiences
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and to work some weekends and evenings
- Entrepreneurial and strategic fundraising mindset
- Ability to develop long-term fundraising strategies and donor engagement plans
- Proven track record in major gift fundraising and relationship-building with internal and external stakeholders
