Job Summary

Major Gifts Officer identifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards individual and institutional prospects ($10,000 and above) for Penn Medicine. The MGO plans, coordinates, and implements development efforts for defined areas and works closely with faculty, senior administrators, and volunteers to meet fundraising goals. Responsibilities include growing and managing a major gift portfolio of 100+ donor prospects, engaging donors toward major and leadership gifts, coordinating visits and special events, preparing major prospect proposals and materials, collaborating with leadership and development colleagues, and reporting on fundraising activity. The role emphasizes donor-centered philanthropy, effective communication to diverse audiences, and to travel locally and nationally as needed. Requires ability to work with faculty, administrators, trustees, and volunteers, and to function in a centralized development structure. Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of progressive experience in institutional development with emphasis on major gifts; strong writing and communication skills; ability to manage multiple stakeholders; and willingness to travel and work flexible hours. Special requirements include background checks if applicable. Salary range is $77,330 to $103,255 annually, with comprehensive benefits and university resources.
