Job Summary
Cultivate long-term relationships with donors and prospects to secure major gifts of $10,000 and higher for the NGHS Foundation. Develop written strategies for each prospect in a portfolio of 50-70 individuals and create solicitation proposals in partnership with the Donor Relations Officer. Manage donor databases, track prospect status, and enter contact summaries immediately following meetings to maintain accurate records. Participate in weekly Development Team meetings, review progress toward fundraising goals, and support the creation of campaign materials including case statements, brochures, and press releases. Represent the Foundation at community events and provide input on story, signage, and recognition plans for major gift donors.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of three (3) - five (5) years direct fundraising, preferably in a healthcare, education or other non-profit setting
- Previous business development, sales, marketing or related experience
- Proficient with Windows and Microsoft Suite products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Possesses a working knowledge of Blackbaud's Raisers Edge or other fundraising/donor management systems
- Must have the capacity to work sympathetically with individuals possessing many different points of view
- Conveys a positive and professional image at all times, ensuring the highest professional ethical standards
- Ability to deal effectively with donors, volunteers and general public in a professional and courteous manner
- Must be adept in interpersonal communication and relationship building
- Strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate, prioritize and manage multiple tasks and responsibilities
- Ability to be self-directed and work under pressure in a fast-paced, goal oriented environment
- Strives for continuous improvement, adapts to change, always seeks to be better tomorrow than today
- Communicates effectively, including active listening as well as strong written and verbal communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- CFRE
- Bachelors degree in Business, Non-profit Management, Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, or other related field
- Other related experience in similar industries with transferrable skills
- Project Management and Budgeting experience
- Strategic planning experience
- Base knowledge of the principles of individual fundraising and relationship development
