Job Summary
Develop and implement individualized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies to secure major gifts and increase philanthropic support for the Coalition's mission. Manage a portfolio of assigned donors and prospects through the full donor lifecycle, prioritizing meaningful engagement and long-term relationship development. Identify, qualify, and solicit current and prospective donors while partnering with executive leadership and program staff to align donor interests with organizational priorities. Prepare gift proposals, stewardship reports, and briefing materials to support successful solicitations, and represent the organization at donor meetings and community events. Maintain accurate donor records and activity in the database while collaborating with the Philanthropy team to achieve annual fundraising goals.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field from accredited college or university or equivalent experience
- Minimum four (4) years of experience in a professional fund development role with demonstrated success in donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship
- Minimum four (4) years' experience managing donor relationships, including identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major gift donors or qualified prospects
- Proven track record of successfully securing philanthropic support for general operations, programs, and/or special projects through effective donor engagement and solicitation strategies
- Ability to independently manage a portfolio of donors, develop and execute fundraising strategies, and achieve established goals while collaborating with internal partners
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications and fundraising databases/customer moves management applications, preferably Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge
- Must be able to manage multiple priorities and projects in a dynamic environment while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines
- Able to provide consistent customer service skills
- Effective interpersonal/assertive communication skills demonstrating a high degree of emotional intelligence
- Must be able to communicate information clearly and effectively through multiple mediums to diverse audiences
- Must be able to read computer screens and printed documents
- Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with employees and others
- Must be able to stand
- Must be able to walk
- Must be able to climb/stoop/kneel
- Must be able to lift/pull/push
- Must be available for evening and weekend shifts as required
- Must be able to work in a climate-controlled shared office and desk environment
- Must be able to handle frequent interpersonal interaction, in addition to weekly meetings and trips out of the office
- Must be able to work in various weather conditions, including snow, extreme cold, hot, and other potentially severe conditions
