Job Summary
Manage a portfolio of 80–100 high-capacity prospect households in Colorado, Texas, and other Southwest/Mountain states, developing multi-year strategies for qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. Regularly solicit and close seven-figure and multi-year commitments, including complex assets and blended giving strategies, by partnering with deans, faculty leaders, and senior administrators. Facilitate high-level donor engagement through individualized visits, proposal development, and strategic convenings while serving as a trusted advisor throughout the gift conversation lifecycle. Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with University Fundraising Policy. This role supports Cornell's academic priorities within Alumni Affairs and Development, where the team recently engaged over 221K alumni to raise $6.7 billion.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 7–10 years of relevant experience
- Proven success in closing seven-figure gifts
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Advanced strategic planning and analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with senior leadership and faculty in a complex organization
- Results-oriented, proactive, and resilient in achieving ambitious goals
- Ability to maintain a valid driver's license
- Experience modeling values that support inclusion, belonging, and wellbeing
