Job Summary
Maitre Sommelier to lead wine service for a Relais & Châteaux boutique hotel near Florence. responsibilities include managing service in absence of other Head of Department, curating and updating the wine list, providing knowledgeable wine recommendations and pairings, serving wine to standards, maintaining the wine cellar and inventory with regular stock checks, planning wine-related promotions and events, training restaurant and bar staff on wine knowledge and service techniques, ensuring health and safety compliance for wine storage and service, participating in daily tastings and briefings, and reporting guest preferences and wine sales trends. Fluent English required with extra languages advantageous; certification such as WSET is a plus. 40 hours per week over 5 days, evenings/weekends/holidays as required. Location: Florence, Via Bolognese 89; no accommodation provided; fixed-term contract of 7 months starting June/July 2026. Workplace is in-person in Florence.
