Job Summary
Welcome every guest at the door, manage and maximize reservations and seating capacity, and escort guests to tables while presenting menus. Oversee daily restaurant reservations, pre-assign seating where necessary, and communicate with Restaurant Reservations regarding special orders, cake orders, and special requests. Answer restaurant telephone courteously, resolve guest complaints to ensure satisfaction, and maintain positive guest relations at all times. Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas, and stay familiar with all restaurant activities including live music, DJ, and events. Constantly train current and new host staff, manage lounge seating and Speakeasy RSVPs, and assist in communicating manpower needs and hiring of incoming hosts.
Required Qualifications
- At least 3 years of hospitality sales and management experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Must be able to maintain tact and cool under pressure
- Able to work flexible hours necessary including off hours, weekends and holidays
- Able to effectively communicate in English in both oral and written forms
- Professional and polished appearance and demeanor
Desired Qualifications
- At least 3 year of host person experience in a high - volume and/or upscale dining environment
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience working in a similar resort setting
