Job Summary
Perform a variety of skilled maintenance work on warehouse-related equipment, including pallet jacks, forklifts, batteries, and building systems like electrical, plumbing, and HVAC. Conduct daily inspections of doors and industrial strip curtains to recognize problems before breakdowns occur, while inspecting and sorting wooden pallets accurately. Execute periodic general maintenance tasks, major equipment overhauls, part fabrication, and painting of warehouse floors and parking lots. Maintain preventative maintenance logs, coordinate with external suppliers for required services, and ensure all work adheres to food safety standards and government guidelines. Work independently with little supervision, lift up to 50 pounds, and operate power equipment and hand tools in accordance with company procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of equipment operation
- Knowledge of mechanics and electricity
- Able to read and write legibly
- Basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently
- Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements
- Ability to work with hands and arms overhead
- Ability to work in or under equipment
- Ability to operate work related equipment such as maintenance related power equipment and hand tools, forklifts and pallet jacks and diagnostic equipment
- Mental alertness
- Ability to read, speak, and write in English
- Positive work history
- Ability to maintain solid attendance
- Available to work extended hours
- Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer
