Job Summary
Maintenance Worker needed for permanent part-time role (15.2 hours/week) at Gill Waminda Aged Care Centre, NSW. Responsible for the general maintenance of the internal and external environment, ensuring essential safety, preventative and breakdown maintenance in consultation with leadership. Perform regulatory equipment checks, assist with housekeeping and support services to maintain optimum physical environment. Undertake basic repairs to buildings, equipment and assets, conduct property and asset inspections, support contractors delivering property services, and ensure safety requirements including fire safety and electrical tasks are carried out per standards, policies, and legislation. Responsible for completing corrective and preventative maintenance on schedule and maintaining a safe, aesthetically pleasing environment for residents, visitors, and staff. The role supports The Salvation Army Aged Care Vision, Mission and Values and requires collaboration with management and adherence to quality, efficient output and compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the aged care industry and Aged Care Quality & Safety Standards, especially Standard 45
- Understanding of building compliance and certification
- Experience in building and grounds maintenance; WHS and risk management
- Contractor management and time management
- Ability to select and use suitable tools including electrical power tools and hand tools
- National Criminal History Check is required
- Valid Driver’s Licence
- Mandatory Working with Children Check for child-facing roles
- Commitment to safety, quality and compliance
