MAINTENANCE WORKER - SSI - REC & PARKS

Maintain parks, beach accesses, recreational structures, and related facilities at Saint Simons Island by emptying trash containers, mowing grounds, seeding, fertilizing, and watering areas, and applying herbicides and pesticides as directed. Install, inspect, and repair irrigation systems; prune trees and shrubs; dig trenches; and install, repair, and paint fences, benches, and picnic tables. Remove litter, debris, and small dead animals from park grounds and supply dog parks with waste disposal bags. Perform custodial tasks in restrooms, including sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting surfaces, while replenishing soap and paper goods. Patrol beaches for hazards, remove beach chairs and umbrellas per county ordinance, and repair boardwalks and signage. Visually inspect playground equipment for safety hazards and report issues to the supervisor. This full-time role operates 365 days a year with flexibility for holidays and events, offering bi-weekly payroll, 12 hours of PTO monthly, and a comprehensive health care plan.
