Job Summary
Maintain the physical condition of the hotel by performing guest room and public area repairs on HVAC, plumbing, and electrical equipment, including checking appliances, circuits, refrigeration controls, television sets, and lighting systems. Execute carpentry, tiling, painting, and wall surface repairs while responding to guest questions, complaints, or requests in a timely, courteous manner. Provide service and repair status updates to the Front Desk, Chief Engineer, and Executive Housekeeper. Complete preventive maintenance checklists and records, properly maintain tools and workspaces, and adhere to established operating and safety standards. Work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum two years of hotel or apartment experience
- Knowledge of basic electrical and plumbing maintenance
- Experience with general maintenance tools
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to push, pull, bend, stoop, and reach upward
- Ability to tolerate exposure to extreme temperatures and cleaning chemicals
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests and coworkers
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
