Job Summary
Maintenance Worker responsible for cemetery, mausoleum, and funeral home grounds. Performs lawn care (cuts grass, maintains lawns, trims around trees/walkways/markers, lays sod), grave-site work (locating graves, digging graves, installing crypt faces, preparing crypts for entombments), arranging chapel setups for services, and assisting with openings/closings for interments and entombments. May operate backhoe under supervision to dig graves and install markers; maintains and repairs cemetery features and equipment; ensures safety per OSHA and company guidelines; handles general facility maintenance and minor repairs. Requires ability to lift and move heavy objects, operate tools and equipment, work in varying weather, and communicate effectively with families and staff. Compensation listed at $18.50/hour with comprehensive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent or relevant work experience
- Minimum 6 months of relevant experience
- Ability to operate hand-held tools and equipment (shovel, rake, etc.)
- Ability to lift up to 150 lbs with equipment assistance
- Ability to push/pull up to 300 lbs
- Ability to walk/stand for long periods
- Ability to work in extreme weather
- Basic computer skills to retrieve/respond to email
