Job Summary
Maintenance Worker – Roads & Streets performs semi-skilled maintenance and operation of roads and streets under supervision, with duties including grounds maintenance (mowing, edging, weeding, planting, trimming hedges), trash collection, pothole repair, irrigation systems, lighting, and mural/decoration setup; conducts traffic control (MOT), striping, safety meetings, and on-call support for town events; may perform custodial tasks, equipment checks, and assist other public works crews. Requires knowledge of maintenance equipment and safety practices, basic electricity, groundskeeping methods, and pesticide/herbicide/fertilizer management. Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent, and a valid Florida Driver's License and CDL Class B; OSHA Certification preferred and Pesticides Certification preferred; minimum of 1 year experience in construction, landscaping, or related field. The role is essential during disasters or emergencies and may involve overtime for events.
Required Qualifications
