Job Summary
Maintenance Worker responsible for keeping Lutheran Social Services of New York facilities in good repair and clean condition. Responsibilities include painting and repairing roofs, windows, doors, floors, woodwork, plaster, drywall, and other structural components; basic plumbing, carpentry, tile work, locksmith, and electrical services; floor care and janitorial duties; outdoor grounds maintenance; inventory of parts and supplies; coordinating with vendors; ensuring proper PPE usage and safety during hazardous conditions; and supporting preparedness for emergencies and large-scale events.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum 3 years in building maintenance or a related field.
- Demonstrates good interpersonal skills.
- Must have a basic knowledge of plaster, sheet rock, painting, plumbing, window balances/window repairs, locksmith, tile work, electrical work and general physical health, cleanliness, security, and safety issues as it pertains to building maintenance.
- Displays Time Management skills, ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments at once, and flexibility, including working some holidays and weekends.
- Exhibits proficient knowledge of Internet Navigation, E-mail, and Microsoft Word.
