Job Summary
Conduct general grounds and facility maintenance at the Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge, including landscaping, infrastructure repair, and natural area upkeep. Perform routine plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and janitorial services while testing drinking water three times weekly. Operate gasoline, battery, electric, or diesel-powered equipment such as lawn mowers, tractors, and skidsteers with multiple attachments. Assist in digging trenches, planting vegetation, installing fences, and treating unwanted vegetation with herbicide. Maintain Service property including computers, cameras, and printers while performing administrative timekeeping duties. Requires minimum of five years in facilities maintenance or construction experience, Windows and MS Outlook proficiency, and ability to stand for long periods and lift 50 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 year(s) of experience in Facilities Maintenance or Construction
- HS/GED Degree
- Experience required with Windows, MS Outlook
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time (up to 4 hours)
- Must be able to walk up to 1⁄4 mile to project location sites
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. without assistance
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in operating equipment such as a skid steer and tractor is preferred but not required
