Job Summary
Maintenance Worker responsibilities include accomplishing general maintenance and repairs on equipment and buildings, assisting with plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems; repair or replace light fixtures, electrical outlets, thermostats, breakers and fuses; repair washers and dryers; construct, remove or repair structural woodwork; maintain flooring and related coverings; install window glass and screens; perform routine repair of plumbing fixtures; supervise assigned students; perform routine checks of the heating system; maintain a safe and clean work area; support Job Corps’ Zero Tolerance Policy; participate in student career success standards programs and activities; mentor students and promote Career Success Standards through modeling appropriate behaviors and interventions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Technical training and general knowledge of maintenance/repair
- Two years related experience
- Valid driver’s license
- Experience working with youth
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
