Job Summary
General Maintenance Worker responsible for maintenance and repair of district facilities and grounds. Duties include repairing woodwork, electrical switches/fixtures/motors, plumbing fixtures, painting, replacing glass, inspecting interiors/exteriors and playgrounds, and assisting with relocation of furnishings. Requires ability to operate tools, lift up to 80 pounds, work outdoors, follow instructions, and communicate effectively; at least one year of maintenance experience and a High School Diploma or GED preferred. Reports to Maintenance Supervisor and works within the Operations department.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Valid Texas driver's license
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Knowledge of basic construction and routine maintenance and repair procedures
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbally)
- Ability to operate hand and power tools
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to lift 80 pounds
- Ability to withstand all types of outdoor conditions
- One year experience in general building maintenance
