Job Summary
Maintenance Worker I responsible for semi-skilled tasks in masonry, carpentry, Electrical, plumbing, and general building/grounds maintenance at Armory and Chadwicks Schools. Core duties include snow/ice removal, inspecting fire extinguishers and emergency lighting, routine maintenance of HVAC/plumbing/electrical/doors/windows, supporting preventative maintenance, assisting with setup/breakdown of classrooms and offices, furniture moves, maintaining sanitary conditions, completing monthly inspections and work orders in Worx Hub, and on-call/emergency responsiveness; travel is required and position involves coordinating with school staff and administration.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- One (1) year of experience in building maintenance, facilities or related field preferred
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances are warranted
- Travel is required. Must have and maintain a valid NYS Driver’s License.
