Job Summary
Maintenance Worker III performs building and plant maintenance for City of Austin Parks and Recreation facilities, including carpentry, painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical, and heating/cooling system upkeep. Responsibilities include inspecting and repairing buildings and equipment, reading profiles/blueprints, operating power tools and equipment (drills, saws, grinders, torch, welder), and performing semi-skilled carpentry, painting, and HVAC tasks. Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent, plus three (3) years of building maintenance and construction work, including heating, cooling, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Texas Class "C" Operator's License
- Ability to read blueprints
- Experience with carpentry, painting, drywall, and use of power tools
- Ability to travel to multiple work locations if required
- Work schedule may include evenings, weekends, and holidays
