Job Summary
Maintain and clean City grounds and equipment by mowing, trimming, edging, and applying herbicides or insecticides as needed. Prepare property through grading and landscaping functions while removing debris, litter, and trash from assigned areas. Assist with clearing land for sidewalks and special events, ensuring street ends, beachside parks, and trash cans remain attended to. Report to the Grounds Maintenance Supervisor and interact professionally with city staff and the public. Work Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 11:30 AM, with potential requests for special events, holidays, or emergency response.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from high school
- 1 to 2 years' experience in ground maintenance
- any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities
- Must have and maintain a valid Florida driver's license
- Must be physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment including lawn mowers, edgers, tractors, etc.
- Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects
