Job Summary
Maintenance Worker I - Parks performs manual labor and operates a wide variety of vehicles, equipment, and tools to aid in the repair and maintenance of parks facilities and grounds, athletic fields, and other recreational or conservation areas. Work is supervised by the Parks & Streets Supervisor with direction from the Foreman. Schedule includes Summer Hours (Mon-Fri, 6:30AM-3:00PM) and Regular Hours (Mon-Fri, 7:00AM-3:30PM) with after-hours on-call rotations. Requires High School diploma/equivalent and at least two years of related experience, plus a valid Illinois Class B CDL with air brake endorsement (driving record acceptable for City coverage). Starting pay is $26.52 per hour with full benefits including health insurance, benefit time, and IMRF retirement. The position is not eligible for visa sponsorship and is offered by Woodstock City as an Equal Opportunity Employer.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two (2) years' responsible work experience in public works, landscaping, construction or related field
- Valid Illinois Class B commercial driver's license with air brake endorsement
- Acceptable driving record for eligibility of City coverage
