Job Summary
Maintenance Worker responsible for a wide range of semi-skilled and skilled maintenance tasks to uphold the Gloucester Township Board of Education facilities. Duties include installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing, carpentry, painting, grounds, electrical, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and other structural systems in accordance with blueprints, manuals, building codes, and safety regulations. Perform grounds work including snow removal, lawn care, and maintenance of athletic fields. Operate hand and power tools, observe safe work practices, and respond to after-hours emergencies. Reports to Facilities Supervisor; requires 3 years of multi-trade experience, HS diploma or equivalent, US citizenship, valid driver’s license, and ability to read/write English.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of criminal history background check
- Proof of US citizenship
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Three (3) years of multi-trade experience in facilities maintenance or construction
- Skill in the operation of power tools and equipment to make necessary repairs
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
- Must be physically able to efficiently perform duties of the position
- Ability to hear conversational voice, with or without hearing aid
- Good vision, with or without glasses
- Ability to follow written or oral directions
- Must be able to perform heavy physical labor, including lifting, pulling, pushing, and climbing ladders
- To work without direct supervision, maintain schedules, set priorities, and organize tasks
- To carry out complex and/or multiple tasks
