Maintenance Worker (Full Time)

Job Summary

Implement preventative maintenance programs, conduct scheduled building inspections, and maintain accurate maintenance records in the system. Carry out repair work to support a safe and healthy environment, assist in emergency response plans, and coordinate with purchasing to source and order supplies. Provide support to the Facilities department by processing maintenance documents and adhere to government legislation, codes, and Wing Kei policies to promote a compliant workplace. Requires a minimum of one year in carpentry, plumbing, or mechanical maintenance, basic computer literacy, and the physical ability to climb ladders and lift up to 50 pounds.

Required Qualifications

  • minimum of 1 year experience in carpentry, plumbing, mechanical or equivalent maintenance
  • knowledge of preventive maintenance programs for building systems
  • knowledge of relevant legislations and procedures regarding building standards, fire and safety
  • basic computer literacy, including the ability to use email and office suite software
  • Willing to learn and contribute to a team-oriented environment
  • Able to follow instructions and complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner
  • good verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Physically capable of performing tasks that may require climbing ladders, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, crouching, pushing and pulling

Desired Qualifications

  • knowledge of Chinese is an asset
