Job Summary
Conduct daily cleaning and maintenance of buildings, grounds, and outdoor restrooms at the Fairgrounds, including sweeping, scrubbing, mowing, and equipment operation. Operate tractors, forklifts, and machine tools to repair or fabricate parts, while painting woodwork and plaster as needed. Open and close structures during weekend duty, manage trash removal from parking areas, and submit repair reports. Participate in emergency management activities during local disasters as directed. Requires high school diploma, six months of job-related experience, and basic skills in lawn and building care equipment. Full-time and part-time roles available with competitive hourly pay.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 6 months job related experience
- Basic skills in operation of lawn and building care equipment
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with other employees and the public
- Understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved verbal and written instructions
- Ability to complete printed forms and make notes
- Ability to perform routine mathematical calculations
- Ability to operate a tractor
- Ability to operate a forklift
- Ability to mow grass and weed eat
- Ability to repair equipment as necessary
- Ability to paint and repair woodwork and plaster
- Ability to set up and operate machine tools to repair or fabricate parts
- Ability to maintain arena area as required or requested by Fair Association
- Ability to keep records and submit reports of repairs completed
- Ability to participate in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers
- Ability to open and close buildings during weekend duty
