Job Summary
Maintenance Worker and Equipment Operator roles within City of New Braunfels Streets & Drainage: operate and maintain streets, parks, facilities, and drainage systems under safety regulations; perform manual labor and equipment operation with duties varying by level, including road repair, sign installation, landscaping, and debris clearance. Equipment Operator I-II expand to more advanced vehicle and heavy equipment operation, routine inspections, reporting, traffic control, and potential crew leadership; roles require safety-conscious, independent or team-based work in outdoor city environments and may include emergencies. Requires a high school diploma or GED, valid Texas driver’s license (and CDL where applicable), and ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting up to 80 pounds. Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent (for Maintenance Worker, Equipment Operator I, II)
- valid Texas Driver’s License (Maintenance Worker)
- valid Texas Driver’s License and ability to obtain Class B CDL within 90 days (Equipment Operator I)
- valid Class A CDL within 90 days or be able to retain Class A (Equipment Operator II)
