Job Summary
Maintenance Worker at Broadway House Women’s Shelter (Brooklyn, NY) under supervision, performing a broad range of facility maintenance tasks and coordinating transportation and client services. Responsibilities include operating CAMBA vehicles and transporting clients and staff to appointments, keeping vehicles clean and in safe condition, reporting maintenance issues, assisting with move-outs to housing, performing furniture and fixture maintenance (plumbing, electrical, painting, cleaning), collaborating with DHS/building landlords for repairs, enforcing safety protocols (PPE, universal precautions), maintaining client confidentiality, logging trips, and ensuring compliance with regulatory policies. Required skills and credentials include a valid NYS driver's license with a clean driving history, defensive driving training, ability to complete required safety and CPR/First Aid certifications, and bilingual ability preferred. Compensation is $18.50 per hour for full-time (35 hours/week).
Required Qualifications
- Must have Valid New York State Driver's License and excellent driving history
- Must complete NYS Approved Defensive Driving Classes every 3 years
- Must take Refresher Computerized Defensive Driver class
- Must remain insurable based on CAMBA's point system throughout the duration of employment
- If required to drive 15 passenger van, must score at least 80% on computerized 15 passenger van improvement test every year
- If required to drive 15 passenger van, must pass an observed Van Road Test
- Acknowledge review of CAMBA's Transportation Policy
- May be required to become First Aid/CPR certified
- May be required to become certified in overdose prevention
- Bi-lingual preferred
- TB test required
