Job Summary
Conduct regular checks of public areas and guest rooms for lighting, fixtures, and general condition, performing repairs such as light bulb replacement, painting, and minor surface work. Manage seasonal grounds maintenance including snow removal, grass cutting, and floral displays while monitoring pool chemistry and supporting building systems. Move furniture, install fixtures, and maintain shop organization while adhering to all health, safety, and PPE requirements. Report irregularities promptly to Engineering leadership. Requires an Alberta Class 5 Driver's Licence, basic mechanical ability, and experience in building or hotel maintenance. Required Qualifications
- Previous experience in building maintenance
- Basic mechanical ability, including knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, and general maintenance
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Comfort working within structured systems, standards, and procedures
- Alberta Class 5 Driver's Licence and clear abstract
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
- Must be able to lift up to 10kg / 22lbs
- Must be able to lift up to 23kg / 50lbs
- Must be able to bend, kneel, crouch, stretch, reach, and twist
- Must be able to use stools and ladders
- Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors, including enclosed spaces
- Must be able to handle chemicals and controlled substances safely and responsibly
Desired Qualifications
- Plumbing or electrical training
- Previous hotel, resort, or facilities maintenance experience
- Pool Operator certification
- Familiarity with working in both indoor and outdoor environments year-round
