Job Summary
Perform welding, fabrication, installation, and repair of process equipment, piping systems, and facility structures to minimize downtime. Read and interpret blueprints to plan work assignments, then select appropriate welding methods and materials based on job requirements. Cut, fit, grind, and prepare metal components while conducting TIG, MIG, SMAW, gas cutting, and aluminum welding operations. Troubleshoot equipment issues, identify root causes, and implement effective repairs on pipelines, pumps, tanks, and plant assets. Install and modify piping systems, valves, and mechanical components while adhering to safety, environmental, and engineering standards. Coordinate maintenance activities with Production and Operations teams to support continuous plant performance at our Casa Grande, Arizona nutrition manufacturing facility.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Proven experience in industrial welding, fabrication, pipefitting, and mechanical maintenance
- Ability to read and work from blueprints, technical drawings, and engineering standards
- Proficiency with TIG, MIG, SMAW, gas cutting equipment, and related welding tools
- Strong working knowledge of piping systems, valves, and mechanical equipment
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and gauges
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Solid mathematical skills, including shop math, fractions, and angle calculations
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects
- Ability to obtain and maintain required welding certifications, including ASME certifications as applicable
- Must have at least 5 years industrial or commercial experience in a related field, an apprenticeship in welding/pipefitting, or military training in a related field
- Good communication skills (oral and written)
- Some computer knowledge to work with a computer management system
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be able to work in a clean room environment
- Must be able to wear ear plugs
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hour day)
- Must be able to walk for prolonged periods (more than 2 hours at a time in an 8 hour day)
- Must be able to perform awkward/forceful/repetitive movements (arms above shoulder, bent wrists)
- Must be able to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States
- Must be able to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire
