Maintenance Welder / Maintenance Technician (Winnemucca, NV)

Job Summary

Perform welding, cutting, and fabrication on plant equipment, piping systems, and structural components while reading and updating blueprints, technical drawings, and weld maps. Inspect and maintain welding tools, plan work orders, and assemble materials for jobs. Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to minimize downtime, follow safety protocols including PPE and hazard identification, and maintain accurate work records. Provide task estimates and support continuous improvement initiatives and preventive maintenance programs. Review planned work with supervisors to limit assembly downtime and control site fixed costs using lean methodology. Requires full-time, on-site hours Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday 4-10, with on-call as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of welding experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Certification in welding (AWS or equivalent), 1G – 6G plate and pipe, or the ability to pass the performance testing of each
  • Proficiency in TIG, MIG, and stick welding techniques
  • Ability to work with carbon steel and stainless steel
  • Strong understanding of safety standards and lockout/tagout procedures
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying environmental conditions
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must be willing to certify in 1G-6G welding techniques
  • Must be able to lift, carry, pull, or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to climb stairs, ramps, and similar structures
  • Frequent repetitive motion involving wrists, hands, and fingers
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs

Desired Qualifications

  • Stainless, and/or carbon welding certification preferred
  • Proficient in TIG, MIG, and stick welding techniques preferred
  • Basic understanding of NDE
  • Basic computer knowledge to be able to manage documentation
