Job Summary
Conduct daily community inspections using UMH vehicles, recording violations and maintaining logs of all work performed. Repair and maintain community-owned homes and lots, including groundskeeping tasks like mowing, snow removal, and debris cleanup. Operate heavy equipment and power tools safely, adhering to lockout procedures and hazardous chemical training. Perform emergency repairs, water leak assessments, and snow plowing as needed, responding to resident calls during on-call rotations. Assist with new home installations such as connecting sewer lines and building decks. Maintain company vehicles and equipment through regular servicing. Work full-time Monday through Friday with rotational on-call responsibilities, including weekend and holiday overtime for community staffing needs.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license and a safe driving record
- A broad range of experience in home repairs, general plumbing, grounds maintenance and the operation of heavy equipment
- Snow plow experience
- Ability to prioritize safety in all job duties and attend periodic safety trainings assigned by UMH Properties
- Time management skills
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently to complete job duties
- Full-time schedule, Monday through Friday 8 - 4 rotational on call responsibility
- Overtime work is required and may be assigned on a regular basis or on a rotating schedule dependent upon community staffing and community needs
- Overtime work may be required on weekends and holidays
- In-person attendance is an essential function of this position
- This is a non-exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act
