Maintenance Tooling Technician - 2nd shift - Weekly Pay

Job Summary
Design, build, and repair tooling and fixture components while operating all tool room equipment. Visually inspect machinery, listen for unusual sounds to diagnose malfunctions, and assist in dismantling defective machines to install repaired parts. Implement and maintain a preventative maintenance program for production and facility equipment, ensuring clean, lubricated, and calibrated machinery. Support maintenance technicians with mechanical system repairs and assist with tool, fixture, and material flow for continuous improvements. Practice safe use of hand and machine tools, including grinders, saws, lathes, and mills, while adhering to strict Health, Safety & Environmental policies. Maintain 5S standards in the department and participate in audit processes.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
- three years related experience as a maintenance machinist or toolmaker
- equivalent combination of education and experience
- Millwright or Machinist Journeyman License
- working towards the completion of a license
- Two years of experience in blueprint reading
- Mig or Tig Welding experience
- Thorough knowledge of CNC, grinding, and all machining activities in the plant tool room involving the design, repair, and building of assembly fixtures and components
- Working knowledge of lathe, grinding, hand welding, machining and heat treat techniques
- An understanding of GD&T and blueprint interpretation and the ability to build from a design drawing
- Knowledgeable and thorough capability to operate all tool room equipment
- The ability to read blueprints
- Understanding gauging methods and tolerance for checking assemblies
- Understanding and fundamentals of GD&T
- Must have the ability to troubleshoot in area of expertise
