Job Summary
Maintain and perform limited repairs on Agency equipment, vehicles, and machines. Assist with normal building maintenance operations at all facility sites, including cleaning vents, repairing walls, and adjusting building temperatures through thermostats and Trane Tracker controls. Perform industrial machine maintenance duties, minor electrical repairs, and loads/unloads delivery trucks as needed. During winter months, remove snow from sidewalks and parking lots and salt walkways. Ensure building and grounds maintenance equipment are in good operating condition and maintain up to date Safety Data Sheets. This role requires a valid driver's license, commercial pesticide applicator certificate, and basic skills in plumbing, carpentry, and operating snow removal or landscaping equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of five years verifiable experience in maintenance and/or training
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Valid Driver's License
- Commercial Pesticide Applicator Certificate
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- Ability to lift no less than 50 pounds as needed
- Ability to travel to other buildings
- Experience with basic plumbing
- Experience with basic carpentry
- Experience with operating and maintaining snow removal equipment
- Experience with forklifts
- Experience with landscaping equipment
- Knowledge of e-mail and general operation of computers
