Job Summary
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on assigned equipment and machinery using various tools. Inspect, repair, and maintain mechanical systems while adhering to OSHA requirements and lock-out/tag-out procedures. Troubleshoot issues by reading basic machine schematics and utilizing measuring equipment like calipers and micrometers to diagnose wear. Organize parts and materials, lift up to 50 lbs unaccompanied, and coordinate with supervisors and other departments to ensure overall success. Share technical information clearly and maintain a positive team approach. This entry-level role supports UFP Industries' global manufacturing operations, where candidates learn through experience and collaborate to maintain a competitive edge.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or GED
- Valid state driver's license
- Ability to read and understand basic machine schematics with little guidance
- Highly organized with an emphasis on detail
- Ability to lift, move, push, pull, carry and manipulate large and small materials weighing up to 20lbs frequently and up to 50lbs unaccompanied
- Ability to use hydraulic equipment, pneumatic equipment, presses, cordless drills, clamps, and other misc small tools in a safe and effective manner
- Ability to use measuring equipment to a high level of accuracy of 0.001" to diagnose wear or damage in machine parts; such as digital and dial indicators, calipers, micrometers, levels, angle and depth gages, etc
- Familiarity with related hand tools and troubleshooting equipment
- Willingness to learn how to properly use a variety of measuring equipment to a high level of accuracy of 0.001" to diagnose wear or damage in machine parts; such as digital and dial indicators, calipers, micrometers, levels, angle and depth gages, etc
Desired Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in the maintenance and repair of industrial equipment in a manufacturing environment
