Maintenance Technician

Job Summary

Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on assigned mechanical equipment and machinery using hand and power tools. Inspect, repair, and maintain industrial machinery while strictly adhering to OSHA requirements and lock-out/tag-out procedures. Troubleshoot issues by reading basic machine schematics and utilizing measuring equipment to diagnose wear or damage with high accuracy. Organize parts and materials, lift materials weighing up to 50 lbs unaccompanied, and share technical information with the supervisor and team members. Maintain accurate records and participate in special projects as directed.

Required Qualifications

  • High School graduate or GED
  • Valid state driver's license
  • Ability to read and understand basic machine schematics with little guidance
  • Highly organized with an emphasis on detail
  • Ability to lift, move, push, pull, carry and manipulate large and small materials weighing up to 20lbs frequently and up to 50lbs unaccompanied
  • Ability to provide personal tools as required
  • Ability to use hydraulic equipment, pneumatic equipment, presses, cordless drills, clamps, and other misc small tools in a safe and effective manner
  • Ability to use measuring equipment to a high level of accuracy of 0.001" to diagnose wear or damage in machine parts; such as digital and dial indicators, calipers, micrometers, levels, angle and depth gages, etc
  • Familiarity with related hand tools and troubleshooting equipment
  • Willingness to learn how to properly use a variety of measuring equipment to a high level of accuracy of 0.001" to diagnose wear or damage in machine parts; such as digital and dial indicators, calipers, micrometers, levels, angle and depth gages, etc

Desired Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience in the maintenance and repair of industrial equipment in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements as they pertain to daily activities
  • Possesses strong troubleshooting skills
  • General knowledge of tools both hand tools and power tools
  • Display a positive team player approach supporting management objectives
  • Able to follow directions well
  • Display the willingness to learn
  • Ability to work with other departments to ensure overall success
