Job Summary
Maintenance Technician responsible for testing, repairing, and maintaining manufacturing machinery and equipment. Partners with plant operations and HR to perform complex preventive maintenance on automated production systems, troubleshoot and repair production lines, program logic controls, calibrate and test equipment, ensure GMP/SQF compliance, maintain maintenance records, develop mechanical maintenance plans, and communicate with management. Requires hands-on use of mechanical/electrical skills, knowledge of schematics, Allen Bradley controls, PLCs, and VFDs, and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- A minimum of five (5+) years industrial maintenance experience to include mechanical, electrical, and PLC
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical engineering designs, installations, maintenance, and repairs
- Knowledge of Allen Bradley controls input
- Able to troubleshoot and program VFD’s
- Able to troubleshoot input and output signals
- A valid driver license in good standing
- Forklift Certification
- Strong electrical and mechanical experience, preferably in a food processing environment
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage priorities and workflow
- Flexibility and willingness to work within constantly changing priorities
- Display a positive attitude and work well with all levels of personnel, whether individually or in a team environment
- Must be able to effectively manage time by organizing and planning work
- Must be able to use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties
- Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Ability to work well with all levels of employees, whether individually or in a team environment
- Effectively communicate questions, problems, and reports to co-workers, supervisory and management personnel
- Flexibility to accommodate unscheduled changes in duties and work overtime as needed
- Strong attention to detail
- Willingness to perform mechanical maintenance and repairs outside of business hours
