Job Summary
Perform repairs, preventative maintenance, and emergency troubleshooting on production equipment to minimize downtime. Diagnose electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues using advanced technical skills, PLCs, and robotics. Organize spare parts inventory, read work orders, and assist with new fabrication projects. Use hand and power tools, including forklifts and boom lifts, while adhering to strict safety protocols. Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for overnight and weekend emergency repairs. Report defects and unusual situations to management promptly.
Required Qualifications
- An associates degree, or equivalent work experience
- At least three years of experience in a manufacturing with electrical control experience
- The ability to use advanced technical skills to install, repair and maintain all plant equipment with an emphasis on electrical systems and robotics
- The ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and solve complex electrical issues
- The ability to identify and differentiate numerous parts, pieces, components and wires and understand their functions and intearctions
- The ability to work efficiently and prioritize tasks is important to minimize machine and equipment downtime
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to follow step by step standard procedures based on the manufacturers recommendations and trade recommendations and protocols
- The ability to count, read, calculate and use various measures in the execution of the job
- The ability to follow safety procedures and guidelines when using tools and equipment
- Reliability and consistency of attendance, punctuality, and completion of assigned tasks according to established standards and expectations with little supervision
- Proficiency in using software and Microsoft Office applications, including software for maintenance tracking and reporting, as well as computer diagnostic equipment
- The ability to bend, twist, crawl and reach while handling equipment and hand tools
- The employee is also required to stand, walk, use hands to handle and feel, and to hear
- The employee must be able to lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis, and items weighing up to 80 lbs. occasionally, with the help of other employees
- The vision requirements for this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- The employee must be able to stand for extended periods of time and perform physical tasks in a fast-paced environment
- The employee will be working in a warehouse environment and may be exposed to varying temperatures and inclement weather conditions
- There will also be frequent exposure to dirt, dust and grease and other compounds commonly uses in the execution of the job
- The employee will be exposed to moderate to high noise levels in the workplace for the majority of the day, due to the constant machine operation, use of electrical equipment and hand-held power tools
- Participate in a rotating on call schedule to cover overnight and weekend emergency repairs as needed
